On January 18, 2020, a group of young people murdered Fernando Báez Sosa in Villa Gesell. He was in the spa town vacationing with his friends.

⁣ After three years, on January 2, 2023, the trial against the defendants began. This will consist of 22 hearings, which will take place in the Oral Criminal Court (TOC) No. 1 of Dolores and will have the participation of more than 170 witnesses.

The eight defendants are accused of “doubly aggravated homicide due to treachery and the premeditated cooperation of two or more people.”

The crime, marked by discrimination and classism, impacted an entire country and thousands of people continue to take to the streets to demand justice.

In turn, the case has various components to be considered a racial crime. To analyze this last point, Filo.News spoke with Alejandro and Chana Mamani, activists from Identidad Marrón.
