Available for a few weeks, Wild Hearts and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty seem to be selling enough to meet the publisher’s expectations.
A great success
Like several other companies in the industry, Koei Tecmo has just released its financial results for the previous fiscal year. We learn in particular that the launches of Wild Hearts and Wo Long Fallen Dynasty are “successful”, without benefiting from precise sales figures. That being said, if this exercise is presented as a success, it is also thanks to the other games of the firm.
Thus, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End and the Secret Key sold more than 290,000 units worldwide, despite being marketed on the same date as a certain Resident Evil 4 Remake. For its part, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, the reissue of the horror game released on Nintendo Wii, reached 120,000 copies sold.
On the finance side, the publisher reported revenue of $584.3 million, up 7.8% year-on-year. However, net profit fell 12.5% over the same period to $230.5 million. It currently forecasts $710 million in revenue and 10.4 million units shipped in fiscal 2023, no doubt thanks to Rise of the Ronin launching as soon as next year.
