This weekend will mark the start of the solar holidays for zone B (Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Normandy, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes and Strasbourg), one week after zone A (Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon and Poitiers). It will also be the start of the holidays for Luxembourg.

In this context, Bison Futé expects difficulties on the roads of France, in particular on Saturday in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, classified red in the direction of departures, orange in the direction of arrivals. Friday and Sunday remain classified as green.

In the direction of departures, Bison Futé recommends avoiding the A43 motorway, between Lyon and Chambéry, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the N90 road, between Albertville and Bourg-Saint-Maurice, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In the direction of returns, it is advisable to avoid the A43 motorway, between Chambéry and Lyon, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Winter tires or removable equipment mandatory

Please note that you must have winter equipment (winter or four-season tyres, or removable equipment on board) to travel on the roads of the mountain departments. An obligation for two years, which is not yet verbalizablebut remains an essential security element.
