With “corcholatas” and senators, AMLO heads the Morenista conclave

The first meeting this Friday, after resuming his activities after the isolation by Covid-19, of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, was with the four presidential candidates and the senators from Morena, PT and PVEM.

This meeting took place in the middle of the recess of the regular session of the Senate of the Republic, due to opposition legislators holding a sit-in in the session room, in defense of the disappearance of the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI).

A sit-in that, by the way, hours before, the federal president described as a “slumber party” and even suggested to federal legislators to “hold on” so that they could experience firsthand what it means to “fight with the people.”

As usual, after the three-hour conclave, in the National Palace, López Obrador published images with the 72 senators related to the 4T, but flanked by his three favorite “corcholatas” Adán Augusto, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Marcelo Ebrard, but in this On occasion he added Ricardo Monreal Ávila from Zacatecas, who had not been close to him for two years.

The purpose of the meeting was given in two areas: “close ranks” in view of the electoral process in 2024, whose message was explicit for the four candidates to succeed him in the Presidency of the Republic, and raise issues related to the legislative agenda, including INAI.
