Juarez City.- A woman custodian of the Social Reintegration Center number 3 of Ciudad Juárez was arrested after being discovered after extorting a person deprived of liberty, reported the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE).

The press release indicates that the security elements apprehended 50-year-old Edith AG, who belonged to the Security and Penitentiary Custody body of the Women’s Prison.

The woman was insured 2,000 pesos for extorting a person deprived of liberty, as she requested money to be able to deliver a paper with information from the inmate’s son.

Following up on the protocol, SSPE agents took the defendant to the Public Ministry of the State Attorney General’s Office, which will determine her case.

These actions seek to improve the quality of the penitentiary system within the Social Reintegration Centers, and also to be able to avoid any type of act that could harm the inmates, the SSPE said in the bulletin.
