“A compliment to you…” sings Melissa Naschenweng in her latest single. The pop singer reveals in an interview with Ippen.Media that this can backfire pretty quickly.

Palma – summer sun, an incredible backdrop and really good music: That’s what the “Schlagersterne auf Mallorca” promised – and they didn’t promise too much. For two days, fans swayed there with the big hit stars until after sunset. Melissa Naschenweng (32) was also there. But before she created a good atmosphere in the Colloseo Balear with hits like “Kompliment” or “Bergbauernbuam”, she took some time and chatted with Ippen.Media. Among other things, about a compliment that suddenly became a mega excitement.

Pop star Melissa Naschwang reveals: This is how the compliment excitement came about

When asked what the most absurd headline she has ever read about herself was, Melissa Naschenweng doesn’t have to think long. “I complimented a man and he looked very similar to a former friend of mine,” reveals the pop singer. “I just say what I think, and I’m known for that,” she continues. “Then I said: You’re a smart guy, you look like my ex. And then it was written: Naschenweng’s notgeil appearance on TV”.

Melissa Naschenweng doesn’t understand that a compliment was made for such a big thing. “If a woman is not allowed to compliment a man and a man is not allowed to compliment a woman, then what are we in the world for? That we walk?” she asks, shaking her head.

“Won’t stop polarizing”: Melissa Naschenweng defends herself against the Notgeil headline

That’s why her latest single “Kompliment” is so important to her: “A lot more compliments should be given. People need that.” When you are no longer allowed to compliment your fellow human beings, “the world is already so wrong. I won’t stop polarizing again and again,” promises Melissa Naschenweng.

At the “Schlagersterne” event, however, there was a curious moment: when hecklers Howard Carpendale (77) interrupted, the hit star confidently read the rioters the Levites.
