The Secretary of Urban Development and Public Works, in charge of Cecilia Soler, through the Undersecretary of Habitat, began the renovation works of the entire Rivadavia pedestrian extension, which covers 7 blocks with its 8 safe crossings, from Hipólito Avenue Yrigoyen to Sarmiento street.

From the Commune, they pointed out that the works include the replacement of all the floors of the commercial artery, as well as the vehicular crossings, equipped with pedestrian ramps. New LED lighting, new urban equipment, canopies and signage will also be installed to improve visual communication when driving through the city center.

In turn, they reported from the Municipality that the maintenance of urban trees will be carried out, understanding its widely demonstrated benefits: decrease in energy consumption in summer, retention of atmospheric particulate matter, and decrease in noise pollution, among others, at the same time New vegetation will be incorporated.

The project foresees an estimated execution time of 120 days differentiated by stages for a responsible and safe organization.

The first stage covers the blocks between Sarmiento and Mitre, and Miter and Alvear, preventing vehicular passage through Miter while the work on it lasts. The second stage will include the section between Alvear and Brown, and Brown and Lavalle but leaving the vehicular intersection in Brown due to its directionality and cutting off the passage through the Alvear and Lavalle intersections. In turn, the third stage will include the sector between Lavalle and Moreno, and Moreno and San Martin, including the Brown and Moreno vehicular crossing. Finally, the fourth and last stage will take place in the blocks between San Martín and Yrigoyen and their respective intersections.
