You don’t need high-end hardware to play World of Warcraft smoothly, but Blizzard’s MMORPG has never been known for making the most of existing hardware. Especially in capital cities like the new Valdrakken, players with even the most powerful machines can rarely hit triple digit FPS numbers. FPS drops are relatively normal, but with the latest NVIDIA Driver 528.02, more and more gamers are struggling with performance issues. Luckily for some players, the solution to this problem is fairly simple.

How to fix your FPS problems in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight

As reported by users on Reddit, the setting for Maximum Foreground FPS was set to “0” after the new NVIDIA driver. To check this for yourself, all you have to do is look for the Max Foreground FPS option in your graphics settings and either disable the feature by unchecking it or move the slider to your desired FPS number.

Another potential solution was User Reshimes discovered. Apparently, performance can be increased significantly by disabling the multisample alpha test. You can find the option for this in your graphics settings under Antialiasing, where you only have to uncheck the Multisample Alpha test box.

It is not yet known why the new driver caused these problems. However, the most likely cause is that NVIDIA’s Geforce Experience has the “optimal” settings for World of Warcraft (buy now )changed. Did these two approaches solve your World of Warcraft performance issue, or are you still struggling with disastrous FPS counts after NVIDIA’s new driver update?
