The already enormous retrogaming potential of Xbox Series X/S grows further with the console porting of Xenia, one of the most famous Xbox 360 emulators in the PC environment.
From the official page on GitHub of Xenia we learn in fact that theXbox 360 emulator has just received a playable version on Xbox Series X/S family consoles, and this regardless of the activation of the Developer mode needed to install unofficial or non-Microsoft Store applications.
The works on this software, however, are still in progress and at the time of writing it is possible to start only a fraction of the huge Xbox 360 game library on Xbox Series X/S: the stated intention of Xenia’s programmers, however, is that of allowing the owners of Microsoft’s green-crossed consoles to access, one day, a all X360 titles not officially supported.
In November 2021, the Redmond house announced that it would no longer add other backwards compatible Xbox or Xbox 360 games due to ‘technical and licensing constraints’: the work done by Xenia’s programmers, consequently, aims to get around these limitations to give way Xbox Series X/S user to once again access the Xbox 360 games that are not backwards compatible.
