Mexico City.- The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, responded to Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Foreign Relations (SRE) that there is a favorite, in the midst of the discussion on how the future presidential candidacy of Morena will be defined.
Yesterday, the foreign minister, also one of the main candidates to contend for Morena’s candidacy for the presidency, called on the party leadership to carry out a fair process to choose who will be on the 2024 ballot and to define the rules for conducting the survey, as well as the moment in which the applicants must leave their positions.
“Look at Veracruz, take a look, people love us and respect us. That someone is a favorite is a lack of respect for people, because you have to ask people. One of two: either there is a poll or there is a favorite, You can’t do both, and to find out if it’s a favorite you have to ask the people… or a favorite too,” said the federal official.
Sheinbaum, called one of the “corcholatas” for her aspirations to contend for Morena’s candidacy to succeed the president, responded today.
“Let’s see, I would say that there is a favorite and there is a poll, but the favorite is the Fourth Transformation of Public Life; and the party will define its times,” he said.
