Just like Zone Download which changed its web address in December 2022, or Cpasbien which was renamed to Oxtorrent, YggTorrent also faces a URL change. The site is regularly blocked by Internet service providers and by Google, which removes it from its search engine.

To work around this problem, admins often change YggTorrent web address. It must be said that on December 8, 2017, the site had more than 600,000 members173,000 torrents, with a total of more than two million connected peers.

According to Alexa Internet, YggTorrent was the 35th most visited website in France on January 1, 2020, being the first in its category of bittorrent directory and illegal downloading. Something to alert the French authorities.

For don’t get fooled by one of the site’s clones that are invading the Internet with the aim of scamming you, here is the right address and how to access it safely.

✅ YggTorrent: what is the right address?

For some time, YggTorrent is no longer accessible in .fi, the old URL of the famous piracy site. To connect to the YggTorrent site without being fooled by one of these multiple clonesyou must now go directly to one of these two addresses:

  • Yggtorrent.lol
  • https://yggtorrent.lol

YggTorrent features the same interface and user accounts. You can still access YggTorrent through Yggtorrent.re since it is only a redirect link. Beware, however, of all the other URLs which are only rogue clones.

? What happened with YggTorrent?

Like many other download sites, YggTorrent has faced many setbacks with the French authorities. The site has been launched on May 21, 2017 under the domain name yggtorrent.com. The removal of t411 on June 26, 2017 will have transformed it into a public and participative tracker at the beginning of July 2017, with becoming a private tracker with free registration.

At the end of 2017, the popular clone of the t411 site announces its closure and merger with YggTorrent. On December 1, YggTorrent was delisted by the Google search engine in response to repeated copyright violations and numerous DMCA requests sent to Google by rights holders.

At the end of 2019, the site moved to a domain name located in Peru, then to the Samoa Islands. At the beginning of 2020, the site claims 3,500,000 users on Twitter and 490,000 torrents in 2021. The domain name of the site is then deactivated by the domain name registrar. The site then migrates to .se, before being blocked by internet service providers in France and to transform into .si, then .li and .wz at the end of the year, before moving to .re following a new blockage by Internet service providers.

On April 10, 2022, the site changed its domain name and chose .la and on June 5, 2022, the site changes its domain name again and chooses .fi following DNS blockages.

WE love

  • An easy-to-understand French interface
  • The NordLynx VPN protocol, fast
  • Lots of features and presets

We don’t like

  • Some difficulties in streaming and P2P
  • Only 6 devices simultaneously

Verdict:

NordVPN offers solid value for money. If we regret the absence of a category of servers dedicated to streaming, we do not have much to add on the simplicity of the software, its connection speeds and its throughput.

WE love

  • A clear and concise interface
  • Good streaming performance
  • An overall satisfactory experience on all devices

We don’t like

  • Correct speeds in P2P, but nothing more
  • Unexpected crashes
  • Some doubts and suspicions about the VPN’s privacy policy

Verdict:

We liked CyberGhost VPN for the overall VPN experience. The interface is in French, the software is responsive, the connection and disconnection takes place quickly, the quality-price ratio is one of the best. But on the other hand, we have some doubts about the privacy policy of the VPN. Before being renamed Kape Technologies, the company that develops CyberGhost was none other than CrossRider, a company that developed malware.

WE love

  • MultiHop servers, others dedicated to streaming
  • No simultaneous connection limits

We don’t like

Verdict:

Surfshark VPN is an affordable virtual private network that has a clear and concise interface. The fact that it has no simultaneous connection limit is a game-changer for those who use a lot of devices.
