Dieter Bohlen is said to have humiliated DSDS star Beatrice Egli. The pop singer revealed: Dieter recommended that she lose weight for her career. And that’s not all…

Zurich, Switzerland – Beatrice Egli (33) did it: The Swiss fought her way from the DSDS superstar to one of the biggest hit stars in Germany. It wasn’t always easy for the musician. Ironically, the pop titan and ex-DSDS chief judge Dieter Bohlen (67) put obstacles in her way. Instead of giving courage, the former modern-talking singer downright humiliated the newly minted superstar.

Dieter Bohlen helps Beatrice Egli to succeed, at the same time he bullies her

Beatrice Egli is regarded as a power woman par excellence. After all, the DSDS winner from 2013 always has a smile on her face. No wonder, eight years after her DSDS victory, the Zurich native is on the biggest pop stages and is one of the most successful pop singers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Of course, she didn’t achieve this success all by herself. Dieter Bohlen, who opened the doors to the hit world for her, certainly also played a decisive role. Dieter wrote “Mein Herz” for Egli, with which the pop singer ultimately made her breakthrough. But no matter how helpful the DSDS judge may have been, Beatrice can’t forget a nasty humiliation to this day.

“You have to lose weight”: Dieter Bohlen humiliates Beatrice Egli

While Beatrice presented herself as radiantly in a good mood on stage, the audience remained unaware of what was apparently going on behind the scenes. At “Closer” the pop singer now reveals the truth about Dieter Bohlen. He is said to have literally bullied the young woman. “What many didn’t see at the time was that Dieter said to me: ‘You have to lose weight, you have to go to the solarium, and you can’t just sing hits.’ And he also told me I absolutely had to sing in English”.

But Beatrice Egli didn’t let herself be bent, went her own way and is now where a hit artist would want to be: on the biggest hit stages – including that of Florian Silbereisen. Nobody expected such a success. Neither Dieter Bohlen nor Beatrice herself, as she reveals. “I always expected it to be over in a year. As a result, I couldn’t really enjoy the first three years.” The likeable Swiss has now been on the big stages for eight years. It can carry on like this!
