In spring you want to serve your visitors delicious rhubarb crumble. But when there is no time to shop, you have to improvise with the ingredients. Or you can just use this delicious and easy recipe.

Three ingredient rhubarb crumble

  • 500 g Rhabarber
  • 150 grams of rolled oats
  • 100 grams of sugar
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Wash and trim the rhubarb.
  3. Cut the stalk into several bite-sized pieces. They should be between three and four inches tall.
  4. Place the rhubarb pieces in a casserole dish.
  5. Add the sugar and mix everything.
  6. Now sprinkle the rolled oats on the rhubarb until everything is covered.
  7. Place the casserole dish in the oven and bake for 20 to 30 minutes (convection oven) – the crumble must be golden brown and the rhubarb must be juicy.
  8. Remove the rhubarb crumble from the oven and serve while still warm.

If you like, you can serve the rhubarb crumble with some vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. This gives the dessert an additional sweet note. Strawberries also go perfectly with the rhubarb crumble.

Four ingredient rhubarb crumble

A little more complex, but just as good: rhubarb crumble with four ingredients. The recipe is as follows.

  • 500 g Rhabarber
  • 100 grams of flour
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 100 g butter (room temperature)
  1. Clean, wash and peel the rhubarb and then cut the rhubarb stalk into small, bite-sized pieces.
  2. Then place the rhubarb pieces in a casserole dish.
  3. Sprinkle half the sugar (50g) over the rhubarb pieces.
  4. Place the flour and remaining sugar in a bowl and mix well.
  5. Now add the butter to the flour-sugar mixture.
  6. Knead everything with your hands to form a crumbly dough.
  7. Sprinkle the dough crumbs over the rhubarb pieces in the casserole dish and press lightly.
  8. Now place the casserole dish with the rhubarb crumble in the preheated oven. Bake the dessert for 20 to 35 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (fan oven). The crumble is ready when the crust is golden brown and the rhubarb is juicy.
  9. Carefully remove the hot baking dish from the oven and serve the delicious dessert while it is still hot.

If you like, you can refine the rhubarb crumble. Spices such as cinnamon and vanilla or other ingredients such as chopped nuts (almonds, hazelnuts) or strawberries are suitable for this.
