Stand-up comedy forgets the stage and favors an intimate story full of rites of passage. Agnès Hurstel confirms all the good that we think of her.
Not so long ago, proposals for serial autofiction based on stand-up were jostling at the gate, between The best version of myself signed Blanche Gardin and the Orders by Florence Foresti. Young and Golricarried by Agnes Hurstel, had been the first to show up. She returns for a season 2 which comes out of the fray and operates an almost complete renewal. Exit the considerations on the stand-up: “ I quit humor », Balances Prune, double of Hurstel. The actress and author moves autofiction into the realm of the intimate and revisits in her own way her relationship to her origins (the series is dedicated to her grandmother, a Jew under the Occupation to whom the fiction pays homage), a a bit like a Ramy Youssef. Before getting there, we have to go back to the break at the start of the season between the character of Prune (Hurstel, therefore) and Francis (Jonathan Lambert) which will send the heroine back to her uncertainties.
Do not panic, the mother-in-law / daughter-in-law relationship that was the heart of the series so far remains at the center. The salutary change of gear of this season 2 is its eight-year ellipse which gives a completely different perspective to the relationship between the teenager and the young Alma, who has become a teenager (now embodied by Saul Benchetritperfect in the role). Young and Golri evolves with it. The series turns into a story of mutual learning that culminates in a sublime final episode where small pleasures are lived by proxy. It is the season of maturity, certainly.
