Juan Gustavo Castellanos, Abraham González, Bianca Gutiérrez and Flor Alexis Serrano were accused this Monday, June 12, of capital murder, among other charges, for the death of Agosto Emanuel de la Torre Quiroz, which occurred last weekend in Pharr.

In addition to the murder charge, all also face charges of aggravated robbery and engaging in criminal activity. The capital murder charge, the judge warned them, carries the possibility of a death penalty or life in prison.

Both Juan, Bianca and Flor face $2.5 million bail each. For the charges of capital murder and aggravated robbery they face a million each and for participating in criminal activity the bail is half a million dollars.

In the case of Abraham, the total bail is 3.5 million dollars for the same charges. The difference is because he has a criminal record. On the capital murder charge, he faces two million dollars, one million for aggravated robbery and half a million for participating in criminal activity.

The judge prohibited all of them from communicating with the victim’s relatives, either through social networks or in person, if they manage to meet the million-dollar bail and get out of prison. Also everyone is prohibited from consuming any type of drug.

During the hearing, the judge also prohibited them from owning weapons. Even if someone has a license to carry weapons in the state of Texas, it was suspended.

Finally, if they manage to leave, they must carry a GPS location monitor and provide a saliva sample for DNA testing.

The court began the process for all of them to be appointed a public defender.
