Yucatan weather today February 17: new cold front causes rain

After several hot days, this Friday the 17th, changes are expected in the climate of Yucatan due to the presence of a new cold front.

According to the forecast, a trough associated with cold front 33 will favor light to moderate rains in the region. Similarly, the surada event is expected to continue in the morning, changing conditions in the afternoon and winds will be felt in a northwesterly direction.

Specifically, partly cloudy skies are expected in the state, with moderate rains of 5 to 25 mm in the north, center and east of the state. In the same way, a hot environment is expected, with temperatures between 31 to 35 degrees Celsius, minimums between 17 to 22 degrees Celsius and light to moderate winds in an east-southeast direction, however, they will change at night to the northwest, with gusts of wind of 20 to 40 kilometers per hour.

For his part, Merida Civil Protection reported that this Friday a hot environment is expected in the city of Mérida, with maximum temperatures between 32 to 34 degrees Celsius, minimum temperatures between 19 to 21 degrees Celsius and isolated light rain is expected between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., as well as intense after 9:00 p.m.

In Progreso, rains of 0.1 mm are forecast, as well as temperatures between 30 and 21 degrees Celsius and northeasterly winds with gusts of 24 to 37 kilometers per hour.

In Valladolid, rains of 0.7 mm are expected, with temperatures between 32 and 20 degrees Celsius and northeasterly winds with gusts of 11 to 23 kilometers per hour.

In Tizimín, 1.3 mm of rain is expected, as well as temperatures between 31 and 19 kilometers per hour and northeasterly winds with gusts of 13 to 27 kilometers per hour.

It is worth mentioning that the weather conditions in Yucatan will remain unstable until tomorrow, because more intense rains are expected.
