Zelenski thanks Spain for banning Russian and Belarusian athletes

Kiev, (EFE).- The President of Ukraine, Volodímir Zelenski, today thanked the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchezthat Madrid has not granted visas to the members of the Russian and Belarusian teams to participate in the Olympic Wrestling Under 20 European Championship which is celebrated in Santiago de Compostela.

The European Under 20 Olympic Wrestling Championship was inaugurated in Santiago de Compostela on June 26 and will end tomorrow. The tournament has had the participation of some 800 athletes from 34 countries.

Kiev calls on the international federations to ban the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions in retaliation for the military aggression against Ukraine released by Russia with the support of belarus on February 24 of last year.
