CDMX.- Former President Felipe Calderón must publicly acknowledge that his Secretary of Public Security, Genaro García Luna, betrayed him, stated PAN senator Damián Zepeda.

Former national leader of the blue and white, Zepeda estimated that the party must condemn the treason committed by García Luna, convicted the day before of having protected the Sinaloa Cartel from “Chapo” Guzmán.

“Today it is sad to learn that your Secretary of Security betrayed the country. The President will have to explain that he, in any case, in that figure, and if he also betrayed him, let him say so. But it is very unfortunate that a Secretary of Security has ended up colluding with crime,” he said.

The legislator said that he had the impression that the Calderon government had fought organized crime head-on; he “in fact is accused of having done it without a strategy.”

“(The PAN) should not shy away from the responsibility of saying that they trusted the person who headed the Government (Calderón), but that his Secretary betrayed Mexico and we reject that conduct and condemn that person and he does not represent us. I do not represents me at all”, said Damián Zepeda in an interview.
