MTA to renovate 13 more subway stations this year

The MTA announces that it will carry out improvements, repairs and deep cleanings at 13 more subway stations in the second quarter of this year.

The initiative is part of NYC Transit’s Re-NEW-vation programwhich takes advantage of scheduled service interruptions to carry out repairs, improvements and deep cleanings at all stations.

When regular service returns to the station, customers are faced with cleaner, brighter environments.

In the first quarter of this year, 13 stations were already renovated, where more than 40 thousand square feet of new and freshly painted surfaces were installed, gutters and drains were cleaned, and leaks were repaired.

According to the MTA, since the start of the program in 2022, 75 stations have been upgraded.
