1. Volkswagen Gol
Starting with the most beloved model on this list, the Volkswagen Gol said goodbye to the Brazilian scene in 2022, when the manufacturer launched the Last Edition version in November. After 42 years of uninterrupted manufacturing and with the title of “the best selling car in the country”, Volkswagen decided to put an end to the Gol, which will be replaced in 2023 by the Polo Track in the brand’s entry model category.
2. Volkswagen Voyage
Voyage is another Volks darling that is leaving the market in 2022. After 14 years since its launch, dealerships in the Brazilian market and Latin America are not being communicated about the arrival of a new batch of orders for 2023, indicating the end of the sedan market cycle. With that, Volkswagen should start offering the Virtus as the brand’s cheapest sedan.
3. Hyundai iX35
After 12 years being sold in the Brazilian market, Hyundai’s iX35 is another model that is also saying goodbye in 2022. In February, the manufacturer in a note about the difficulty of updating the model respecting the new model rules of Proconve L7 this ended production of the vehicle. Since its launch in 2010, the iX35 has sold 112,000 units.
4. Hyundai Tucson
Another endangered model is the Hyundai Tucson. At the beginning of the year, when production of the iX35 ended, Caoa said in a note that it would also pause production of the SUV for a while until an update of the vehicle was presented. However, no new version has reached the market. In addition, due to the little success of the vehicle in Brazil, the manufacturer may have decided to end this line once and for all.
5. Hyundai HB20X
The HB20X, one of the rare adventure hatches in the Brazilian market, is also saying goodbye in 2022. The adventure hatch segment has already become extinct in Brazil precisely because of the low demand from the general public, and this Hyundai model is proof of that. To get an idea, of all HB20 models issued in 2021, only 10% were HB20X.
6. Caoa Chery Tiggo 3X and Tiggo 2
The duo Tiggo 2 and Tiggo 3X ceased to be produced in 2022 after Caoa closed its factory located in Jacareí (SP) for renovation. After the works are finished, Caoa’s idea is to produce only hybrid and electric vehicles. With that, the Tiggo family says goodbye to the Brazilian market.
7. Honda Accord

8. BMW X2
In February this year, BMW removed the X2 from its website, an SUV model that came with two different engine versions, 1.5 and 2.0. With a much lower sales number than planned by the brand, the BMW X2 shows that it did not work out very well in Brazil. The manufacturer even said that it is still studying whether or not it is worth bringing the model back to the country in the future.
9. Mercedes-Benz A 200 Sedan Advance
The Mercedes A 200 Sedan Advance — entry-level version of the Class A Sedan — was no longer available in the Brazilian market in March this year. Due to low public demand, the model produced in Hungary was no longer imported to Brazil. With the departure of the Mercedes A 200 Sedan Advance, the cheapest version of the Class A Sedan now costs R$ 332,990.
10. Renault Sandero
Finally, the Renault Sandero is another darling that left the Brazilian market in 2022. In October of this year, the model had its production ended at the brand’s factory in São José dos Pinhais (PR). After 14 years, the French hatchback that replaces Sandero will be the Renault Stepway.
