Apple, through the official channel of Apple Support up YouTubeshared a video a few days ago where he shows 10 iPhone tips and tricks to get the most out of your smartphone.

Some of these tricks will already be known by more experienced users but they can always help those who are having to use an iPhone for the first time. Let’s see them together.

The video lasts just over 5 minutes and below we report in written form i 10 tricks for those who don’t want to watch it or find it hard to understand English:

  1. Take a subject or object from an image in the Photos app: in the Photos app on iOS 16 by touching and holding down on a subject or an object of an image you can “isolate” it and place it in another app such as Messages, as if it were a sticker for example.
  2. Change and customize your lock screen: a new customizable lock screen has been introduced on iOS 16 that allows you to change the style and colors of some elements such as the time, the date or to add widgets from both system apps and supported third-party apps. To do this, just long press on the wallpaper on the lock screen and tap “Customize“.
  3. See the passwords of saved Wi-Fi networks: Go in Settings > Wifi and tap on the item “Edit” present in the upper right corner. You will be identified by Face ID, Touch ID or PIN and can view all saved Wi-Fi networks. By tapping on the symbol the inside the circle you will see the information of that chosen network, at this point to see the password and possibly copy it to share it, just tap on the dots in the “Password“.
  4. Save time with custom text replacement: If you often write the same word or phrase (for example your home address or your email address) you can make sure that when you type a certain word, the keyboard automatically replaces it with the one set (example: set the word “email1” to replace it each time with “[email protected]“). To do this, go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement and tap “+“, then add the abbreviation and the phrase with which to reply.
  5. Add Energy Saver in Control Center: To quickly activate the energy saving mode from the Control Center go to the “Settings > Control Center“, here add the entry “Energy saving“. Now pulling down the Control Center you will have the shortcut to activate this feature.

  1. Select multiple photos to add them in another app: When you are in an app, for example on Safari in a web page with several images, you can tap on an image, put it aside and with a different finger select others and then move them all together to another app, for example to save them in Photos.
  2. Quickly open Camera from the lock screen: When you are on the lock screen you can quickly launch the camera by holding down the Camera link in the lower right or swiping from right to left.
  3. Translate text directly from the Camera app: Starting from iOS 15 it is possible to use the function Live Text within the Camera to copy text within an image or to be able to translate it into the desired language. To do this, open the Camera, frame the text and touch the button that will appear at the bottom right of the frame. In the Photos app it is possible to do the same thing even with images already in the gallery.
  4. Scan a document: Using the Notes app, you can scan a paper document to digitize it. The image will be automatically cropped by removing what is outside the document and the modifications will be made directly to make the document more readable and without reflections. To do this, just open the Notes app, open an existing note or create a new one, tap the camera icon at the bottom and tap the “Scan documents” item.
  5. Quickly get to the top of any page: This function is very useful in situations where there are many items such as in photos. To quickly return to the beginning of the photos without scrolling for a long time, just make a single touch at the top of the iPhone display, in an instant you will be at the beginning of the page. The same trick can be used in other situations such as web browsing to return to the top of the page, Settings, or other apps.
