The official Twitter page of Kia India has released a short video showing the final design, albeit hidden in the shadows, of the new 100% electric SUV Kia EV9 whose concepts we were able to admire only a few months ago.

The video, which lasts just 14 seconds, shows the car silhouette and the shape of the optical groups and it all ends with a simple “Coming Soon”. The post instead contains the phrases “Be ready to be inspired. Stay with us to find out more!”.

After receiving very positive feedback regarding the beautiful Kia EV6 – recently arrived on the market also in the very powerful “GT” version with more than 500 horsepower – Kia is preparing to conclude work on the impressive EV9 SUV: the starting platform is the same used for EV6, it’s called E-GMP and is based on a800 volt charging architecture, so as to further reduce the time spent at the column. To date, the largest battery pack offered by Kia is from 77 kWh on the EV6, but it is possible that even larger batteries are proposed on the EV9 given that there has been talk of an autonomy of about 540km with a single charge.

There is still a lot to discover about the Kia EV9, such as the different engine configurations: today Kia offers a dual-engine EV6 with 320 horsepower overall, in addition to the very powerful GT version that will probably be revived for the EV9 as well.

In 2023 we will undoubtedly have the opportunity to find out more about the Kia EV9 and with a little luck we will be able to see the first examples produced in action; what is certain is that the EV9 will arrive on a market with a fair amount of competition and will probably have a more competitive price than models such as the electric SUVs of Mercedes or Tesla Model X and Model Y.
