A 13-year-old skier fell from a chairlift in Montafon on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, a 13-year-old skier and his family visited a ski area in the Montafon. At around 3:15 p.m., he intended to take a chairlift up the mountain and got on the lift.
After the safety bar was properly closed, the boy took a ski from the ski support while driving and positioned it underneath.
Slipped under the hanger
He slipped further and further off the seat and finally could no longer hold on. As a result, the skier slipped under the closed safety bar and fell onto the piste from a height of around 6 – 8 meters.
He sustained injuries of an undetermined degree on both legs and was transported to Feldkirch Regional Hospital by rescue helicopter.
