NORTH OLMSTED/OHIO.- A community in Giant Eagle on Lorain Road, Ohio, is shocked by the sad news of the death of a 3-year-old boy, who was stabbed with his mother while they were walking through the parking lot of a community shopping center.
According to a statement from local police, officers were called to the store at approximately 3 p.m. after “multiple 911 calls” about a possible stabbing in the parking lot. Police arrived at the scene and arrested a suspect. Bionca Ellis, 32 years old.
The two stabbing victims were given first aid by police at the scene and then transported to UH St. John’s Medical Center, North Olmsted Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones said.
“I am deeply saddened by an incident that occurred this afternoon in the parking lot of the North Olmsted Giant Eagle supermarket. A woman, currently in North Olmsted police custody, stabbed a client and her two-year-old son. (3 years). “Both the mother and child were immediately transported to St. John’s Medical Center, where they are currently receiving treatment,” stated the mayor of North Olmsted.
North Olmsted police say the investigation is ongoing.
