Today marks the 3rd anniversary of the murder of Fernando Baez Sosa at the hands of a group of rugby players, who since January 2 have faced an oral trial in the Courts of Dolores. Coinciding with the last day of testimonies, the victim’s parents have called an interreligious act to demand, once again, justice.
The crime of Ferdinand on the outskirts of the Le Brique bowling alley, in Villa Gesell, has had wide media coverage, not because it is the first of its kind, but because several of the sequences that occurred before, during and after were recorded by different security cameras, in which a mob of at least eight people is observed hitting and kicking the victim, even when she was already lying on the floor.
The viciousness with which the defendants acted, in addition to the physical and numerical advantage they had, have generated the rejection of the media and the vast majority of society.which these days views with concern the increase in street fights involving adolescents and young people.
After the initial hearings, led by the parents of Ferdinandexperts and witnesses of the fact, it was the turn of the rugby players unrelated to the beating and of the relatives of the accused, which marked a turn with respect to what had happened up to now. After almost three years of silence, some of the main accused of the crime finally spoke: Máximo Thomsen and Ciro Pertossi, who deny having acted with the intent to kill, in opposition to what was raised by the Prosecutor’s Office, the complaint and a large part of the witnesses .
With the intention of honoring the memory of FerdinandHis parents, Silvino Baéz and Graciela Sosa called an event at 8:00 p.m. in the Libres del Sur amphitheater in the city of Dolores. The event was declared of municipal interest and an interreligious prayer will be raised and a solidarity collection will be made in the presence of friends and relatives of the victim.
