A 37-year-old woman was arrested after her baby was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning, reported the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBSD).
SBSD agents were notified Saturday at 12:44 am about the poisoning of the seven-week-old baby.
Honesti De La Torre allegedly drove in unincorporated Rialto. The woman “stopped to put alcohol in a bottle and gave it to the child to stop crying,” according to the SBSD statement.
The baby was transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital for poisoning.
De La Torre was arrested for child endangerment and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center.
