Wheelchair athlete asks for support for prosthesis
Raúl Hinojosa Solís, 38, has been struggling with his prosthesis for a long time. Raúl has one on his right leg, because he doesn’t have a right leg.
He lost it by accident in 2015.
Raúl likes the rodeo and walking among horses, one stepped on his foot.
He went to the hospital and there a bacterium entered him that caused an infection in his foot that spread to his leg and they had to amputate it.
Over time, Raúl got a prosthesis and was able to walk again with an artificial leg.
And not only that, Raúl, who does not get intimidated or let himself be beaten, became a basketball player in the famous team of famous wheelchair basketball players called Los Transformers and their enthusiastic coach, Professor Marco.
Optimism. Life has put things uphill for Raúl, but he doesn’t back down.
The team where, in addition to cultivating sports among people with disabilities, love of life is encouraged.
And Raúl, who has a love for life, came out ahead, despite the fact that two years after his amputation he fractured his other foot, he developed an infection and they had to remove the bones of two fingers.
Raúl was dedicated to selling cheese and chorizo that he himself made on the streets, until a client cheated him and left him at zero.
Apart from the pandemic, sales dropped and… Raúl’s economy collapsed.
Raúl does not have a permanent job.
So he had to go out into the world to find his life.
He found work, as a forklift driver and eventually dedicated himself to painting houses.
Hard work for him and for the prosthesis.
And the prosthesis, which had already been in use for five years, wore out, broke down, broke and lost its useful life.
Every time Raúl uses it to walk it hurts him and sores form on his stump and the stump becomes infected.
Needless to say, the pain caused by the infection.

He has been collecting money, some friends have given him some things to build a chest, he raffles it off and earns a few pesos, but it is not enough.

Raúl has asked for help from different instances, from people in politics, but there has been no response.
Raúl, who does not depend on anyone, has to work whatever falls to survive.
