A 72-year-old retiree lost the wallet in which she had been carrying about $80,000, documentation and other personal items. Everything was inconsolable until the taxi driver who had taken her from the bank to her house in Los Hornos appeared to return her belongings.
“I went from absolute sadness to being thankful for the appearance of an angel who saved my life. It gave me back hope and that you can still believe in people. I had everything in that bag that I accidentally dropped after paying for the trip“said the old woman.
Notoriously happy, he recounted that he believed “that the world had been cruel to me, because it is very difficult for me to live with the income that I have and this time I needed it more than ever”.
The hero of this story is called Carlos Petoyan, who went to the retiree’s house together with the general secretary of the union, Juan Carlos Berón to give the woman what she had lost in the car she was driving. “He had told me everything. The plans she had, the hardships she was going through and how she had been in the last few days”said the taxi driver.
In this regard, he stated:Beyond that, I was going to return the money and documentation as has happened to me on other occasions. But this time he had something special because of the heartbreaking story of the woman”.
Moved by Petoyán’s attitude, the old woman told the newspaper El Día that she felt the gesture like a Christmas present”.
