A man died this Monday afternoon after misleading the truck he was driving on National Route 12.

According to what was reported by police sources, the tragic road accident occurred around 2:40 p.m., at kilometer 1619 of the aforementioned national artery, in the jurisdiction of the town of Puerto Iguazú.

The spokesmen indicated that the accident was carried out by Darío Germán Ortíz (37), who was driving a truck belonging to a commercial firm in the town of Gobernador Roca and that it was traveling with a semi-trailer trailer, without cargo.

For reasons that are trying to be clarified, at a certain moment the man would have lost control of the vehicle, ending up in an area of ​​pine trees and a mountain on the shoulder.

As a consequence, the trucker was trapped in the cab. With the assistance of the Iguazú Volunteer Firefighters, they tried to free the person from the irons. However, when the local Samic ambulance arrived, the driver was left without vital signs.

Staff from the Criminal Division, and the Road Safety and Tourism Division also worked at the site.
