A woman is rescued after spending days trapped in mud at a Mass state park.

A woman who was reported missing from Stoughton, Massachusetts has been rescued after she was found trapped in mud at a Massachusetts state park in Easton.

Stoughton police have been searching for the woman for about a week and had issued an appeal to the public for help. They announced Monday that hikers at Borderland State Park had found her, but she was stuck in the mud and they couldn’t reach her.

Easton police used all-terrain vehicles to reach her. Stoughton police said she had been stuck in the mud for several days, but she was conscious and alert when they arrived.

She was taken to a local hospital for observation.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the searches, including sharing drones and boats, police said.

Further details about the rescue were not immediately available.

Borderland State Park, near Stoughton, covers more than 1,800 acres, including about 330 acres of wetlands, according to a state fact sheet.

Police had cited “a history of mental health problems” when they asked for help finding her, and the Stoughton police chief said they were concerned she hadn’t taken her medication for days.
