Admira from Dornbirn started the friendly phase for the spring round at the weekend with a draw. At the same time, coach Herwig Klocker looked positively ahead.

Dornbirn. After the first training sessions of the new year, the Admira kickers went to Friedrichhafen for their first friendly last Saturday. After a balanced game, the two teams finally parted with a performance-based 2:2 draw. Luiz Felipe Idalgo Infante and Kilian Madlener were responsible for the two Dornbirn goals at the start of spring.

Before the start of the new football year, Admira coach Herwig Klocker looked back briefly on the past autumn round, in which Admira only won four games. “The expectations of the environment after the very successful previous season were of course very high. But we lost a few top performers and regular players at the start of this year’s season and the very young team then needed a certain amount of time to find themselves,” the Dornbirn long-term coach sees, however, that his team did well in the last games of the past year and the victories against Göfis and Wolfurt got on the right track.

Insight into the Admira cabin

There were also some changes in the Admira squad over the winter. “The departure of our role model Samir Karahasanovic was already agreed before the season. Fabio Brenner and Dragan Klincov are also looking for a new challenge at other clubs,” coach Klocker gives an insight into the Admira dressing room. The “Blues” have strengthened themselves with Kilian Madlener from FC Dornbirn and Aaron Hackl from DSV. Gabriel Vogel from the second team has also recommended himself through his diligence in the winter and is already training with the first team.

For Admira, the preparation for the spring season continues next Friday with the friendly against FC Lustenau. The Admira kickers want to be ready for the first game of the VN.at elite league this year in mid-March and quickly hand over the red lantern again. “Although there will be no relegation this season due to the league reform, which is why the pressure is completely off for us, it will still be our goal not to be at the bottom of the table at the end of the season. Not to forget – we are still represented in the VFV Cup and we want to stay there for as long as possible”, coach Herwig Klocker gives an insight into the goals of the team. The Admirans are already looking to the coming season as a long-term goal and want to be ready for new tasks there. MIMA
