This time he wants to go through with it!
In mid-October, DSDS singer Helmut Orosz (43) had a drunk relapse after six months in the rehab clinic during his comeback appearance in Paderborn. On December 20th, the Hanoverian by choice started therapy again in the rehab clinic.
Orosz to BILD: “I accepted this position just before Christmas because I didn’t want to wait another six months.” The consequence: Helmut couldn’t spend Christmas with his family.
“On Christmas Eve I got a roast veal that I had to eat alone in my room. The other patients were all with their families. Only two other patients were in the clinic with me, but they had Corona.”

How did the musician pass the time on the holidays? “I had a lot of opportunity to reflect on the past year. I want to finally win the fight against my demon alcohol. I promised my father that.” He is currently in the hospital himself because he has advanced dementia.
Orosz sad: “My greatest wish is that we can all celebrate together again next year. And my mama makes stuffed cabbage like every Christmas…”
But first the singer has to successfully complete his therapy by the end of March 2023. Orosz already has plans for the time after that, wants to publish his biography and new songs.
► Orosz was kicked out as a candidate for “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” in 2010 because of drug and alcohol excesses, although the talented singer was even given a chance to win. After that it went downhill with him, his addiction continued to accompany him. Bankruptcy followed, he even sang on the street.
But four years ago, Helmut Orosz pulled himself together and got his addiction under control. He lived abstinent until 2021, when he had an alcohol relapse. He decided to commit himself to rehab to finally get clean.
Orosz got rid of drugs, but he still hasn’t conquered alcohol.
