After almost two weeks, the slope in Hörbranz is still in motion, according to Mayor Andreas Kresser.

At the end of April there was a large landslide in Hörbranz. A house was damaged and 39 residents of the surrounding buildings had to be evacuated. Due to the heavy rainfall in the last few days, Mayor Andreas Kresser has now given an update on the situation in the Hochreute area.

Still moving

Measurements show that the slope is still moving. These are creeping movements that are barely visible. As a result, four houses are still at risk. In order to prevent another landslide, minor measures such as drainage of the slope have now been carried out, according to Mayor Andreas Kresser.

Larger measures when slope is stable

The municipality of Hörbranz is already in close contact with avalanche and torrent control. However, according to the mayor, larger measures such as slope stabilization can only be carried out when the slope is stable. Nevertheless, some options for securing the existing buildings and the slope are already being worked out.
