The Ministry of Security of the Nation held a new meeting yesterday to coordinate the landing of gendarmes in the municipalities of the Province, in which Aníbal Fernández and his counterpart from the Province, Sergio Berni, participated, as well as seven municipalities from the Conurbano and La Plata.

As this newspaper was able to learn, Berni asked that the federal forces that disembark in the Buenos Aires communes work jointly with the response to 911, something that was not objected to from the portfolio that Fernández leads. “There is a strong decision by the national government to support the province of Buenos Aires with human resources,” Berni said upon leaving the conclave.

The table called “Conurbano Unified Command” (CUC) was attended by representatives of La Plata, Ensenada, Berisso, Cañuelas, President Perón, San Vicente, Berazategui and Florencio Varela.

The municipal Security Secretary, Néstor Pulichino, was present for our city, who told EL DIA that, although a precise date of the landing of the federales was not given, it is known that the moment “is imminent.” Nor was it detailed how many troops will join the City, although, he indicated, they confirmed that they will be from the four forces: Federal Police, Prefecture, Airport Security Police and Gendarmerie.

Regarding the implementation of work, it was planned that the municipalities send the Nation a report with the “hot zones” of crime, by place and critical times, while the operation will be in charge of the portfolio led by Fernández.

Asked about the most conflictive areas in terms of crime in La Plata, Pulichino described that the plan in which he works already indicated three neighborhoods. One of them is the area behind the Cemetery, where 137 and 72 avenues meet, identified as an escape channel for criminals who carry out robberies in the town.

Another area that, in the view of the Municipality, requires special attention is that of Parque Alberti, at the intersection of avenues 25 and 38, in La Loma.

A third point of contention that was already pointed out in the information that the Municipality prepares to send to the Nation is that of the area of 120 and 90, in Villa Alba, another place where the Commune will suggest the presence of federal forces.

Pulichino warned that the report will incorporate the proposals of several more places, as well as critical schedules and that, in the eyes of the Commune, “all kinds of operations will be welcome.”

2,200 Buenos Aires troops

As indicated by the Municipality, a total of 2,200 members of the Buenos Aires Police operate in our city. To this number would be incorporated the feds that join in reinforcing the most conflictive areas.

Meanwhile, at the general level of the districts of the metropolitan area (AMBA), Berni stressed that “we all know that human resources in the province of Buenos Aires are scarce, for which reason we are in dire need of reinforcement by the federal forces” .

These meetings are part of the meetings that had been held weeks ago, but which intensified and added other acts such as the Buenos Aires mayors, after the commotion caused by the crime of the bus driver Daniel Barrientos during an assault on an inmate of line 620 who He was traveling through the Buenos Aires town of Virrey del Pino, in the La Matanza district.
