While Disney+ The Mandalorian is heading towards the finale of the third season, the next series in the Star Wars universe is also on the horizon: the first longer teaser trailer for Ahsoka was shown at the Star Wars Celebration in London over the weekend. In addition to details about the story, this also reveals the approximate start date. The highly anticipated series revolves around Anakin Skywalker’s one-time Jedi warrior and student, Ahsoka Tano. Rosario Dawson will play the role again in live-action appearances in The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett. Content overlaps are therefore quite possible, but Ahsoka will be much more closely linked to the animated series Star Wars Rebels (2014-2018), as the latest preview now reveals.

After Ahsoka, other characters such as Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) make the leap from the animated series to real-life. With the imperial Grandmiral Thrawn, another character known from Rebels is also announced as an opponent.

Ahsoka will launch on Disney+ in August 2023, although an exact date has not yet been revealed.
