The specialist in Pathological Anatomy of the Clinic, Carlos de Andrea, highlighted that one of the most outstanding findings of the study is that artificial intelligence identifies that the interaction of the immune system with the tumor is crucial to predict the relapse of the patients.
Álvaro López, a specialist in the Gynecological Cancer Area of the Cancer Center Clínica Universidad de Navarra, stated that this is only the first step to implement artificial intelligence in daily clinical practice. Although the results are encouraging, still it is necessary to refine the algorithm through a larger number of patients studied and to explore ways to make this technology accessible in all pathology departments of hospitals.
