ANDhe Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, number one in the world, dedicated his victory this Saturday against Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in the semifinals of the Cincinnati Masters 1,000 to the Spanish women’s soccer team, which will play the World Cup final against England this Sunday.

“Come on girls, go for the World Cup. Long live Spain!” Alcaraz wrote on the camera at the foot of the track after his hard-fought 2-6, 7-6(5) and 6-3 victory against Hurkacz, with a saved match point included.

Twenty-year-old Alcaraz thus encouraged Spain, which is playing for its first world title against England in the final of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
