Victim of a right thigh injury, Adam Ounas is fixed on the duration of his unavailability. He will not play again for two months and should skip the next national team training course in March.

Adam Ounas could not go to the end of the last match between his team Lille and Troyes. We played the 8th minute, he contracted an injury to the right thigh. Having left the field on a stretcher, the Algerian international appeared on crutches at the final whistle. His injury caused a great fright, it must be said.

As expected, the Algerian international has undergone extensive medical examinations. Thus, he now knows the duration of his unavailability. Indeed, he will stay away from the competition for a period of no less than two months.

“Thank you all for your messages. See you in two months on the pitch”, he wrote on his official Instagram account, without giving details of his injury.

Will he be present during the next Greens course in March?

It must be said that the injury suffered by the talented player fell at the wrong time. The reason is simple, it slows him down. Unavailable for a period of no less than two months, he suddenly returns to square one, he who has been able to regain his best level since the start of the current season.

Worse still, the player should skip the next national team training course in March. Indeed, he should not be 100% ready before the double confrontation against Niger, as part of the qualifiers for CAN-2023 in Côte d’Ivoire.

Adam Ounas (1 goal and 2 assists in 14 games), will have to treat his injury in order to return to the pitch sooner than expected. He will undoubtedly be well taken care of by the Lille club’s medical staff, who will make sure to recover him as soon as possible.

Remember that the Lille striker missed the last training camp in November for a physical problem. He was conspicuously absent from the friendly match between Algeria’s national team and Sweden in Malmö (0-2).
