To the saga Alien is a series of science fiction films that began in 1979 (yes, all the same) with the eponymous film directed by Ridley Scott. The franchise has since expanded to include five more films, as well as video games, comics, novels, and toys.. And if there is a name or a face that we remember in this franchise it is that of Sigourney Weaver who embodies the cult character of Ellen Ripley.

Ripley being a strong character, far from gender stereotypes. Especially at a time when the action film had mainly Sylvester Stallone or Al Pacino as its face. There are a lot of younger actors getting into that kind of role now. And there’s also this Alien movie that I wanted to do alongside Neill Blomkamp, we didn’t get the chance to do it, but you know, it’s too late for me. I am very proud of what I do. I spent the necessary time in space!
For the record, this film Alien 5 by Neill Blomkamp, which she was anticipating so much, had been canceled by Fox.
They managed to make Ripley a woman, without making her a helpless creature.
In 2004, the actress had suggested to Fox a film intended to “take Ripley to the next level, whatever it is“. But alas it’s now too late and the actress wants to move on.
