Wild Hearts: Differences from Monster Hunter

Of course, comparisons to Monster Hunter come to mind with Wild Hearts. And that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Both games are about taking on big monsters and preparing accordingly beforehand.

The world in Wild Hearts also consists of several zones that you can explore. So for Monster Hunter fans, this should definitely feel familiar. But there are also a few differences.

For example, your progression in Wild Hearts is tied to the size of your starting base. Unlike Monster Hunter, this only grows over time and you won’t be flooded with everything right from the start.

In addition, there are the technologies of the Karakuri. You can assemble these items quickly in battle, they serve as barriers, traps or for locomotion. Along with your weapons, they are an important element that plays a role in defeating the monsters.

Various technologies will help you in battle.

What is Wild Hearts about?

Wild Hearts is set in Azuma, a fictional world heavily inspired by feudal Japan. The monsters, called Kemono, have invaded this world and, among other things, influence the landscapes. You play a hunter using ancient Karakui technology to battle these monsters.

Azuma is divided into four different regions, each based on a different season. So expect significant differences between these individual regions.

Is there co-op in Wild Hearts?

You can play Wild Hearts alone in single player mode or alone in co-op multiplayer mode. If you don’t want to play alone, you can team up with up to two other players.

You can invite both friends and friends to adventure together, similar to Monster Hunter.

Otherwise, the multiplayer functions can be completely ignored. The game won’t force you to use them if you don’t want to.
