After seeing the story of The Lost and Damned, ci sembra essenziale pays tribute to the rightful attention also all’altra (fin troppo) sottovalutata expansione di Grand Theft Auto IV. I use in contemporary with the adventure of Johnny Klebitz and his Lost MC of him, The Ballad of Gay Tony è infatti un’altra esperienza che possiamo sinza dubbio annoverare tra quei giochi che, por un motivo o per l’altro, non hanno raccolto tutta l’attenzione che meritavano.
In questa rubric vi abbiamo parlato di so much, tantissimi titoli appartenenti a questo filone: opere magari imperfette o semplicemente un po’ troppo sfortunate, ma che vale absolutemente (ri)scoprire even a distancia di anni. Dale moto… Ai night club!
Siamo nell’aprile 2010 e, contemporanea con The Lost and Damned, i giocatori di tutto il mondo hanno il piacere di accogliere anche GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony. An experience, even the last one, that will expand the interesting narrative universe of the fourth chapter… With an approach and a different point of view. Dalle bande di motociclisti passiamo infatti to an environment of all diverse: quello della vita nocturna e dei club più exclusivi de Liberty City.
We will dress qui i panni di Luis Lopez, giovane ragazzo dominican nonché partner d’affari di Anthony Prince: owner of due night club meglio noto tutti col nome di Gay Tony. In the company of Johnny Klebitz we explored the marcio dei sobborghi of modern America, our adventure on the side of Luis will not be anything different: we will always know the characters and situations at the limit of assurdo, in a title that is rich in Maniera più marcata i toni scanzonati e sarcastici della serie Grand Theft Auto.
Non infatti una spiccata critique a quella che alcuni definirebero “alta società”, formata spesso e voluentieri da individui con valori e morale assai debatibili. La historia ci porta proprio all’interno di esta mondo così particularare dove, tras la gestión dei club e altre faccende per conto di Tony, ci troveremo covolti en uno exchange dimanti dal valore inestimabile. Chi di voi ha già giocato a GTA IV e alle sue expansioni ricorderà molto bene questo crocevia: si tratta infatti dell’esatto momento in cui le vicende dei tres protagonistis – Niko, Johnny e lo stesso Luis – si incrociano, in a racconto che va ad amplare ancora e ancora il comparto narrative dietro a un’esperienza tutta da (ri)scoprire.
To render The Ballad of Gay Tony a unique title we found, through the other seams, an atmosphere built davvero in nei minimi dettagli. Eat? With a visual and sound sharing that strizza l’occhio agli anni Ottanta di GTA: Vice City, riuscendo communicates to ritagliarsi a clear and definite identity of its own… Ma non solo. Sono infatti tanti gli elementsi che vanno a formare un mosaico pressoché perfecto per richiamare un imaginario, quello della vita nocturna, che poche altre opere sono riuscite rimarcare in questo modo.
Rispetto al gioco base troviamo qualche aggiunta tra le car, con alcuni mezzi di lusso perfecte per sfrecciare trade la strade del centro di Liberty City, ma anche armi personalizzate oltre ogni esagerata immaginazione e un colonna sonorous con un po’ di Italia all’interno. Good part of the music that is possible to attend in the club, infatti, bears the signature of the allora duo di musica elettronica milanese dei crookers. The perfect accompagnamento per enterrarci, step by step, in the evening life of a (little) common American city.
The Ballad of Gay Tony, the last piece of the puzzle
If in The Lost and Damned we might apprezzare a story with a forti dark tint, with a dramatic tone and an approximation of a depth of the all new for the franchise, The Ballad of Gay Tony is reported to the standard to which GTA has been accustomed in the corso of his long and strange story. Rockstar showed who, for the umpteenth volta, how much benefits to squeeze when you find a game at home: siamo di fronte a a graphic narrativeche si ignite gioco dell’America con uno sguardo fortemente satirico su quella che, troppo spesso, non è davvero la terra delle grandi opportunità che tutti credono.
The construction of a single narrative impianto, which is going to join the three stories through a single common thread, is an experiment to our avviso più che riuscito ma che, forse, it was not exactly ciò che i fan if aspectavano. What we could do, in the meantime, is to invite me to give a second chance also to The Ballad of Gay Tony: a genuinely entertaining title fatto its size for all colors that, negli anni, have not been able to know and appreciate the wacky world created by Rockstar Games. The inter-experience of Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition, che potete peraltro I will recover at a very convenient price, absolutely merits di essere vissuta e rivissuta also to diversi anni dalla sua uscita.
