What in the last few weeks at warner What happened in the superhero department was probably not in everyone’s wildest dreams at the beginning of last year. filmmakers James Gunn (Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad) took over the scepter of the newly founded DC Studios and apparently received the order to consistently clean up. He finally put this idea into practice. Successively it hit Wonder Woman, Superman and finally the anti-hero who was actually in charge of DC should tear around.

Everything seemed in DC Extended Universe amount to a showdown between Superman and Black Adam. But then Henry Cavill’s comeback as the last son of Krypton was over after a guest appearance that lasted only a few seconds. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was also sawed off just days later.
And apparently not without reason. In addition to the meager box-office result, which was later glossed over by the main actor, the former wrestler apparently gave enough reasons himself to refrain from working with him again. At least that’s what one report suggests, which includes some juicy details.

Before James Gunn as the new boss, the Movies at DC was installed, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson openly tried to take over the helm. In talks with Warner, it unveiled a multi-year plan in which Black Adam should be the focus. He also earned in the end credits of the animated film DC League of Super Pets Being named as a producer did little to promote the film.
Also existed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson apparently insisting on his own Tequila brand to compete at the Black Adam premiere in New York. That appeared to some of those responsible for a film with a PG-13 rating (in Germany FSK from 12, or FSK from 16), as extremely inappropriate. An insider summarizes: “His demands at some point exceeded what ultimately came back from him”. And so it was apparently not difficult for Warner to drop the influential mega-star after Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill.
In the meantime, by the way, it has been announced that one can imagine Ezra Miller with the flash and Jason Momoa as Aquaman continue to remain in the DC Universe. The extent to which these plans will actually be implemented or whether it is just lip service will probably primarily be decided by the box office.
