Xabi Alonso has reacted cautiously to the latest rumors about him. “It’s normal for me that there are these rumours. I have been in the football business for many years”, said the Bayer Leverkusen coach at today’s press conference. The 41-year-old has recently been linked to big clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

“That is not a problem for me”added Alonso, “My head is now 100 percent here for the final months of the season.” The former world-class midfielder took the Werkself out of the relegation zone and into sixth place in the Bundesliga, arousing interest. His contract with Bayer runs until 2024.
