Bizarre woke madness in the culture industry in the Netherlands!

The performance of the world-famous play Waiting for Godot by Irish writer Samuel Beckett (1906-1989) has been canceled by a cultural center in the Dutch city of Groningen. The reason: The piece should only be cast by men – as provided for in the literature template.

That’s why no women were cast for the play from the start. But that contradicts the equality rules of the house – the performance of the play in March was prohibited!

“It is not acceptable that groups of people are excluded,” said a spokeswoman for the center. This contradicts the rules of the cultural center, according to which casting must be open to all gender groups.

In plain language: the art performance was canceled because it did not meet a women’s quota.

► During his lifetime, Samuel Beckett had decreed, under threat of legal action, that the five male roles in his play could ONLY be played by men – so far no one has bothered.

With “Waiting for Godot”, which premiered in Paris in 1953, Beckett became world famous overnight: the two tramps Vladimir and Estragon wait in vain for a certain Godot, while they talk about life. It is one of the most famous plays in theater literature. Becketts later received the Nobel Prize in Literature for it.

“As if I landed in an absurd dream,” said director Oisín Moyne (26) of the Dutch daily newspaper “Dagblad van het Noorden” about the Woke madness.

He has absolutely nothing against women playing men’s roles. Only his theater company fears legal action from the foundation that administers Beckett’s rights. “We’re a small company and we can’t afford that,” Moyne said.
