This high-end model is part of the mobile line of the Ryzen 7000. A few hours after the official launch (scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday August 22), leaks have emerged from the first benchmarks, which reveal a performance similar to that of the same CPU that lacks memory 3D V-Cache.
The test carried out in Geekbench 6 returns 2,783 and 16,080 points, monocore and multicore, respectively. That’s basically 100 points more in every category than the Ryzen 9 7945HX, which has the same specs minus the 3D V-Cache technology.

Another test on Geekbench 5.5 shows that the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D achieved 20k points with multiple cores. By contrast, the single-core score was just over 600 points lower than the other test. At this benchmark, performance is even closer to the model without 3D V-Cache.
It’s hard to say what would cause this behavior, mainly because in Geekbench 5, the Ryzen 9 7950X CPU offers more performance than its X3D version. As for Geekbench 6, the difference is only 300 multi-core points between the two models.
Ryzen 9 7945HX3D vs Intel
Compared to the Ryzen 7945HX3D against the competition, AMD’s mobile CPU offers the same single-core performance and is 700 points behind in multi-core against the Core i9-13900HX in Geekbench 6. In Geekbench 5 this difference rises to 1900 and 200 points (multithread/singlethread) in favor of the Intel CPU.
The Ryzen 9 7945HX3D is an exclusive CPU for the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 17 X3D laptop, which hits the international market tomorrow. According to AMD promotional material, the CPU has 16 cores and 32 threads.boost up to 5.4GHz, TDP above 55W and 144MB 3D V-Cache.
This amount of cache, according to AMD, is an advantage that will be seen in games. With the technology disabled, the CPU offers 23% less performance in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. In Cyberpunk 2077, the performance improvement over the model without 3D V-Cache is 44%. Overall, the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D offers 15% better gaming performance than the Ryzen 9 7945HX.
