Lords of the Fallen introduces the enemies that are going to make life miserable for hundreds of hours

The Souls final bosses they tend to monopolize all the prominence, even surpassing the protagonist himself and secondary characters in most cases. It is enough to take a look at Elden Ring, for example, to realize: the Collector’s Edition includes the helmet of the infamous Malenia and radahn he became one of the first bosses nerfed after making life miserable for the community.

The final bosses are specific encounters and we cannot repeat them unless we start an NG+. However, the normal enemies are always there and their job is none other than trying to blow up each of our steps during the adventure… sometimes literally. In this sense, Lords of the Fallen will not be an exception. The IGN medium shows us with images and descriptions what will some of the enemies be like thanks to its IGN Firsts program.

The enemies of Lords of the Fallen

All Souls have mythical enemies that are hard to forget. They do not always coincide for everyone, because each player tends to remember those who have given them the most headaches throughout the adventure. Lords of the Fallen It is not far behind in terms of horrors and nightmares, as we can see in the images and descriptions:

Avowed

Foot soldiers. The lowest rung. Cannon fodder placed in our path to be mercilessly destroyed in our path. They have medium armor and a combat mace, so they shouldn’t pose a danger unless they’re ambushing us around corners or attacking us in a group. In short: the worst of the worst.

Penitent

The name of these enemies surely reminds you of Blasphemous, but I already tell you that they are not even a quarter as dangerous. They are miserable, worse even than the Avowed. Sinful beings and unworthy of any grace. For the most part, they are completely harmless and will beg for forgiveness when we walk past them. Some will even plead for an end under our gun.

Ardent Penitent

We continue with the penitents, although they do not beg for mercy or that we kill them. They support regular troops, rely on crossbows as their primary weapons, and employ cowardly and dirty tactics. Despite their dedication, they continue to be disowned and cannon fodder, even more expendable than the Avowed.

Ardent Penitent 1692141832365

pilgrim

They are the middle ground between Penitent and the Avowed. Their fate is uncertain, since they have received neither the acceptance nor the rejection of the Order. They have a staff that contains radiant power, so they can attack us both melee and from a distance. We can qualify it as the least miserable so far, but they are still cannon fodder for us.

Corrupted Penitent

The wretched are over. We are entering insane territory. These enemies are pilgrims who were rejected or who failed during the holy tests. They still cling to the cross that pilgrims usually carry, but now they hide in the shadows. They have a humanoid appearance, but are emaciated and insane, frantically attacking anything in their path. More beasts than humans.

Corrupted Penitent 1692141832366

corrupted pilgrim

He Corrupted Penitent and corrupted pilgrim they are corrupted versions of their originals. Rhogar’s corruption has emaciated them and driven them to utter madness. His curse is also the source of his power: they can conjure exploding guts, and the jingle of the bell on his staff often means that a projectile of corrupted flesh may fall upon us at any moment.

marksman

We return with the troops. They remain foot soldiers and cannon fodder, absolutely essential, but their skills are prized by their superiors. They have great aim and use Crossbows to hunt us from afar. Like the Ardent PenitentThey use cowardly techniques. Better to be attentive to cornices and other projections.

Marksman 1692141832367

Proselyte

Regular and brave soldiers who were captured by the Rhogar and subjected to unimaginable pain and suffering to carry their corruption. They are crazier and more dangerous versions of the Corrupted Penitent, since they have military training and are completely insane after torture. They are true berserkers and it is better to be careful with them.

Proselyte 1692141832368

pureblade

No more nonsense. We are before a true knight of the order, a brother. They are professional soldiers who use different weapons and can imbue their shields with radiant power to protect their fellow soldiers. They are usually accompanied by soldiers from a distance and will try to hinder our progress until we fall prey to arrows and bolts.

Radiant Hound

Damn dogs. Why do all souls have to have hounds? Wasn’t it enough with bloodborne? Bloodthirsty bloodhounds trained by the order. And as if that were not enough, they are protected by armor. Positioning is extremely important during matchups and they tend to get tripped up due to their speed. So remember: blocks and dodges followed by heavy attacks.

Raw Mangler

Do you remember the Proselyte? If they were berserkers, then the Raw Manglers are true moles of bad host and corruption. These Rhogar thralls wield two axes and feature complete disfigurement. They maintain their humanoid appearance, but are deadly, ruthless, and extremely strong beasts. If you choose a lightly armored class, you better not get ganged up on it.

Raw Mangler 1692141832369

Remnant

Threshold bait. They are zombies or beings without soul or face and hungry for vigor (Souls or Echoes of Blood in Dark Souls and bloodborne). They are dead caught in the net of Threshold. By themselves, they are harmless and easy to kill. They have no weapons… but are usually arranged in groups. If they corner us, then we have a very serious problem. They represent the darkest mortal desires and needs.

Remnant 1692141832370

Shrouded Remnant

If we just saw the Remnant melee, these are the ranged Remnant. They tend to keep their distance from us and fire ectoplasmic projectiles at us to drain us of life (and add Wither) and take away our stamina. They usually accompany their melee versions, making a deadly combination: we’ll try to go for these first and find ourselves cornered by the normal ones.

Shrouded Remnant 1692141832370

womb of despair

What’s worse than enemies at a distance? Flying enemies. The womb of despair they are hideous versions of the Remnant with the ability to float in the air and lay eggs from which they emerge remnants. As you can see in the image, it is about women and its theme has to do with pregnancy and abortion. Our impulse will be to chase her so that she stops summoning remnants as soon as possible, but it is a trap to throw one of her spit at us or grab us.
