The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his wife Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, sent a Christmas message through social networks to express their good wishes for all Mexicans, including their adversaries.

“Happy Christmas Eve to all Mexicans, as well as to those who celebrate Christmas around the world,” he said.

At the same time, he asked that we all reflect on the importance of the birth of Jesus Christ, the most important defender of humble people, of poor people and of the humiliated.

He mentioned that tonight the majority of Mexicans celebrate Christmas Eve, “it is Christmas Eve dinner and it is a tradition, a custom of Mexico and of the Catholic Christian religious world.”

“I personally remember it because it has to do with the birth of Jesus Christ, who is for me the most important social leader that has ever existed on earth. The one who has shown the most with deeds, with self-sacrifice with his life, love for the poor, because he fought against oppression and that is why they sacrificed him, the powerful, the powerful ”, he highlighted.

The first president explained that when asked about his religion, he answers that he is a Christian because he follows the life and work of Jesus, who left a great teaching on “love of neighbor.”

In this sense, he also sent good wishes to his adversaries whom he says he does not hate.

“We can have differences and treat each other as adversaries to defeat, not as enemies to destroy, and that we have love above all else, love for our fellow men, but also love for nature, for animals, love for the homeland, You already know that I aspire to a loving republic”, he commented.

For her part, Dr. Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, wife of the president, pointed out that Christmas for many is a matter of meeting with friends, family or there are also those who go to bed early, because they have to work “we send a big greeting to all of you ”.

“We are closing this 2022, I hope you have loved a lot, that you have loved them a lot, that you are at peace and tonight Christmas Eve you are at home happy, calm, giving thanks, it is very important to thank you, thank you even for what did not touch us , for what they did not grant us, and try to live with peace and inner harmony”, expressed Gutiérrez Müller.

During the video, an artisan birth can be seen on the scene where, they explained, it is a representation of indigenous origin made by people from the Highlands of Chiapas.

To conclude, the presidential couple sent a hug and greetings to all Mexicans in the United States, Europe and Asia, wishing everyone “Merry Christmas.”
