The efforts made by the elements of the border police, but also the vigilance of the customs services, at the level of Algerian airports, do not deter some travelers from making new attempts at illicit transfer of capital.

Recently, elements of the PAF at Algiers airport seized nearly 800,000 euros from a Spanish national. Who was trying to pass this sum, illicitly, on the national territory. In addition, the customs at the level of the same airport enclosure also carried out a new seizure.

Illicit currency transfer: 85,000 euros seized from two travelers at Algiers airport

In this wake, the General Directorate of National Security announced, in a press release published on January 31, the seizure of 85,000 euros, on two passengers at the international airport of Algiers. And this in two separate operations, during this week.

In the first, the PAF managed to get their hands on the total sum of 55,000 euros from a traveler who is about to take his plane to Barcelona, ​​Spain. The second sum seized, at the same airport, amounted to 30,000 euros, found on another traveler bound for Istanbul in Turkey.

These two travelers were arrested. And this, in accordance with the regulations governing the transfer of capital from and to the national territory. They will have to respond to the facts held against them in court in the coming days.

As a reminder, in addition to large sums of currency, the border police at Algiers airport have recorded all kinds of seizures in recent months. Indeed, in a report on the EL Bilad channel, the elements of the customs at the level of the international airport of Algiers exposed some of the unusual seizures discovered in the luggage of certain travelers. Among these, there are sabers, surveillance cameras, Walkie Talkies, large quantities of makeup and perfumes, car bulbs…
