The Algerian international joined the group of the Belgian formation in the process. After only one training, he was still selected for the match against Oostende. He performed his baptism of fire on the occasion. He appeared on the pitch in the 70th minute, but failed to find the net.

“I want to stay more than 6 months”

After making his debut with his new team, the top scorer in the history of the national team gave his impressions to the Belgian media. He displays his ambitions.

“I’m here to score goals. I feel close to my best level (…) We have a good young team. I will put my experience at the disposal of my new teammates. I like to play alongside young people who want to progress”. He will say straight away.

As everyone knows, Slimani has signed a contract until the end of the current season with Anderlecht. But his ambition is to continue the adventure with the Belgian club at least for another season. “I want to stay longer than six months. But it won’t just be up to me.” He added. Only good performances would allow the striker of the Greens to be entitled to a new contract at the end of the current exercise.
