The great folk rock ‘n’ roller used to be a cute brat.

Andreas Gabalier (38, “Hulapalu”) had a bumpy start in life. His mother Huberta (64) gave birth to him in 1984 while driving in Friesach (Austria).

From then on, today’s “Alpen Elvis” had a happy childhood. This is shown by previously unpublished photos that are now appearing in Gabalier’s first own magazine for the tour (starting on April 28th).

In BILD, the singer explains four particularly cute pictures.

Andrew and his family. A picture from his photo album shows him on the phone with Grandma Gabalier: “I was two years old then. I remember that old phone well. Not of the situation anymore, of course. But I always liked talking to my grandmother on the phone.”

Andreas also shows a photo from 1988 together with brother Willi and father Wilhelm, who committed suicide in 2016, at Schwarzlsee in Styria. “Days like that were my favorite. Simply with the family at the lake, a delicious ice cream in your hand – what could be better?”

At the age of six, Andreas diligently cleans the grating of a barbecue in the garden. “I’ve always liked things to be clean. But it just tastes better from a clean grill.”
